Mike Bell

Mike is an experienced NHS Non-Executive leader, who has served on 10 NHS boards (chairing eight) over a 25-year career, including at NHS provider trusts, Integrated Care Boards, and Strategic Health Authorities, across London.

He joined the North Central and North West London Integrated Care Boards as Chair in 2025, bringing them together as West and North London ICB, launched on 1 April 2026.
He also currently chairs Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust in South London.

A particular passion and expertise is in EDI and sexual health. His career in healthcare began through working with those with HIV and AIDS, and this interest has continued, as he has advocated widely to develop EDI and sexual health work in the capital, along with tackling wider health inequalities.

Most recently, he joined the NHS London Sexual Health and HIV Board and the steering group for fast-track cities.

He also convened the London Chairs Network and the NHS London Anchor and Sustainability Chairs & NEDs Network, on behalf of the London regional NHS team.

Elsewhere, he worked as Chief Executive of a national charity and has run a consultancy company for 30 years, delivering contracts to a range of public bodies, working with and alongside the Home Office, NHS England and various providers and commissioners in the NHS and local government across the UK.
