Lead Commissioner - London HIV Prevention Programme

Marc Thompson is the Lead Commissioner of the London HIV Prevention Programme, a health promotion specialist, award-winning podcaster, and LGBTQ cultural archivist. For over three decades, he has been at the forefront of HIV and LGBTQ activism, working to enhance the health and well-being of LGBTQ and racially marginalised communities, with a particular focus on Black and queer communities.

Marc has held prominent positions in various organisations, including the NHS, the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, the Terrence Higgins Trust, Gay Men Fighting AIDS (GMFA), Big Up, and Positively UK. He has developed a diverse range of programmes and interventions tailored to support Black, queer, and HIV communities.

As a co-founder of Prepster, the Love Tank, and Blackout UK, Marc has significantly contributed to their missions and growth. He also spearheaded Project 100, the first national peer mentor program for people living with HIV, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to providing comprehensive support to those affected by the epidemic.
