Tresca Wilson
Lived Experience Representative, Fast-Track Cities London
Tresca Wilson is a passionate HIV advocate, mentor, and community organiser. She was diagnosed with late-stage HIV in August 2015.
Based in East London, Tresca works directly with diverse communities, providing HIV and STI testing, distributing condoms and sharing vital health information. She regularly delivers outreach in LGBT+ venues across Hackney and surrounding areas, helping people access care, stay informed and feel empowered. Her mission is clear: to challenge outdated views about HIV and help end new transmissions by 2030.
Drawing from her personal journey, Tresca actively supports others living with HIV. She mentors and coordinates community projects at Positive East, serves as a 4M Network Mentor Mother, and advocates for better understanding and support as a Fast-Track Cities London Lived Experience Representative. As an activist with ACT UP London, she speaks out against injustice and pushes for change. Through Catwalk4Power, she celebrates the strength of women living with HIV, using fashion and performance to replace fear and shame with pride and visibility.
Tresca has featured in a video for National HIV Testing Week as part of the Positive Champions project with African Advocacy Foundation and Fast-Track Cities London. In 2022, she released her debut single U=U, a powerful anthem spreading the message that ‘undetectable equals untransmittable’.
Born in Manchester to Caribbean parents, Tresca is a proud mother of four young adults and grandmother of four. She has spoken openly about living with HIV since 2019 – using her voice to break down barriers, change minds and prove that HIV does not define who you are.
