World AIDS Day 2019 – Save the date for Fast-Track Cities London

Save the date for World AIDS Day 2019 with the Fast-Track Cities London Leadership Group.

  • 1 in 8 Londoners living with HIV have only disclosed their status in a healthcare setting
  • A quarter of people living with HIV worry about being gossiped about
  • One in ten people avoid family or social gatherings

HIV stigma negatively impacts the quality of life for Londoners living with HIV, contributing to poorer mental health outcomes, including emotional distress, shame, depression, reduced self-esteem, anxiety and thoughts of suicide.

This year we want to mark World AIDS Day with an event which focuses on people living with HIV and the effects of stigma and discrimination on their mental health.

The evening will include exciting performances that challenge the stigma around HIV, stories from people living with HIV and we’ll outline Fast-Track Cities London plans for 2020.

Save the date for our evening reception at the London Living Room, City Hall on Friday 29 November 2019 from 5pm. Light refreshments will be provided.

You will be able to book tickets to the event from Thursday 31 October. Email hlp.londonftci@nhs.net for further information.
