Working with faith leaders to increase testing and normalise conversations about sexual health and HIV
Led by NAZ, a BAME-led health agency working to address sexual health inequalities in black, Asian and ethnic minority communities. It also involves the Africa Advocacy Foundation and the Jewish Aids Trust
Religious leaders have a unique and important role in supporting the wellbeing of people with HIV and fighting stigma. Because of their well-established and trusted relationships with communities, religious leaders can influence the lives of the people they serve and to promote positive health messages. They are also well placed to address inaccuracies about HIV and change attitudes towards people who are living with HIV.
We aim to help faith leaders, and those newly in training, of all religions to develop skills to be able to provide pastoral and health support for people living with HIV as well as being a voice in their community to help spread messages about prevention and testing.
