IMPROVEMENT COMMUNITY

Doctors of the world

Increasing HIV testing for those most vulnerable in the community, including undocumented, asylums seekers and migrants.

Led by Doctors of the World, an independent humanitarian movement working to empower excluded people to access healthcare, it involves Metro, Spectra, Positive East, Haringey Migrant Support Centre, Voice of Domestic Workers.

Migrants and refugees often feel excluded from healthcare and have trouble accessing HIV tests. Fear of arrest as a result of immigration status continues to contribute to the poor health and wellbeing of migrants and refugees in the UK.

The project aims to provide a holistic healthcare service that prioritises sexual health.

We can overcome multiple barriers as a trusted migrant service, by providing safe, translated services that do not compromise the safety of service users and instead centres on them.
